About Us

Who we are and why we gather.

Vision

A Christ-centered family where everyone belongs.

At Vernon Family Church, we are becoming a Christ-centered family where everyone belongs. From the moment you walk through our doors, you are welcomed into a community that worships God passionately, loves one another deeply, and serves our neighbours generously. We desire to be a shining light in Vernon, sharing the hope of Jesus through prayer, hospitality, meaningful relationships, and practical acts of love.

Mission

Grow. Reach. Love. Create space.

To grow as the family of Christ through prayer, worship, and discipleship, while reaching our community with the love of Jesus. We are committed to loving God, loving our neighbours, and creating spaces where people can connect, belong, and encounter Christ — whether around a table, at a community event, or gathered together in worship.

Statement of Faith

What we believe.

The Vernon Family Church affirms the Bible as the inspired Word of God, emphasizes salvation through Christ, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the historic creeds of the Christian church.

We hold that all Scripture is inspired by God, infallible, and fully authoritative in matters of faith and practice. The Bible is the complete revelation of God, and believers receive spiritual illumination to understand it — but no new revelation is added beyond Scripture.

God exists eternally as three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — sharing the same nature and attributes, deserving equal worship, confidence, and obedience.

Salvation is provided through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Those who repent and believe in Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit, receiving eternal life. Divine healing is also included in the atonement for believers.

Jesus Christ is recognized as Savior, coming King, and Healer. His death and resurrection confirm the atonement and provide redemption for all sins.

We teach that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers believers for service and spiritual growth.

Humanity is separated from God by sin, but through faith in Christ, individuals can be reconciled to God, experience forgiveness, and enter into a personal relationship with Him.

Believers will ultimately be judged by Christ, receiving reward or punishment according to their deeds, but salvation through Christ ensures eternal fellowship with God.

Angels were created to serve God, while Satan and fallen angels oppose God's purposes. Spiritual warfare is acknowledged as part of the believer's experience.

We align with the historic creeds of the universal church and maintain a Pentecostal emphasis within the broader evangelical tradition.

Come see for yourself.

We'd love to meet you. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church family, you're welcome here.
